Meridian and SmugMug
Looking at SmugMug?
Meet Meridian.
Meridian is one product for photographers: a website on your own domain, client galleries, bookings with deposits, contracts, invoices and print sales.
What SmugMug is
SmugMug is best known for photo hosting and portfolio websites, with print sales.
When SmugMug may suit you better
If you mainly want unlimited storage for a personal archive, SmugMug is built for that. Meridian is built for running client work: enquiries, bookings, contracts, invoices and delivery.
How Meridian is different
-
Galleries and the rest of the business together
Galleries sit beside your website, bookings and invoices: one record per client.
-
Your own domain
Your website and galleries share your own address.
-
No commission on sales
Gallery sales are paid into your own Stripe account.
-
Start free
Galleries are free.
-
Made for Australian studios
Australian dollars, GST and your ABN on invoices, in your own time zone.
Moving across
- Export your client list from SmugMug as a spreadsheet (a CSV file).
- In Studio, open Settings → Bring work across and choose A spreadsheet of my own. Name and email are enough.
- Set up sessions, contracts and invoice details once.
Meridian beside other products
SmugMug is a trademark of its owner. Meridian Photographers is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, them. Check their site for current details.
